The 1 in 5 project is currently organised by academics at several UK universities including Cardiff, Bristol, Birkbeck and Manchester.

Everyone contributes their time as volunteers and we are all active in teaching and research.

1 in 5 currently receives no funding and is not linked to any other initiatives. We are simply hoping to spread a good idea and with any luck make a difference to the climate crisis.

We think of 1 in 5 as a bottom-up collaboration between students and their project supervisors.
